Children’s Rooms

Fitzroy ELC is a modern, architecturally designed, purpose-built Early Learning Centre. Our building is made up of eight learning environments, all with direct access to our state-of-the-art playground and outdoor facilities.

We’ve paid particular attention to planning each indoor and outdoor space at our centre with a focus on nature and sustainability. Our centre has been designed to stimulate children’s creativity, exploration and sense of belonging, filled with light and a sense of home.

The outdoor spaces have been thoughtfully designed by our landscape architect with an emphasis on sensory experiences and intriguing play spaces that invite exploration. Our Playground to Plate® philosophy also ensures that there are gardening opportunities for all children throughout all our play spaces. To foster children’s appreciation and respect for our precious resources, we have a strong focus on developing environmental awareness. To achieve this, we encourage children to explore their natural world through sustainable playscapes, vegetable gardens and composting and through the discovery of ecological systems.

Through play babies explore and learn to understand the world around them as they come to communicate, discover, imagine and create.

Using the Early Years Learning Framework educators will observe your child’s learning so they can build on it and plan the next steps.  They will do this by listening, watching and talking to your child.

Educators encourage children to be open to new challenges and discoveries, as well as motivate and encourage children to succeed when they are faced with challenges.

Children show enthusiasm for participating in physical play and negotiate play spaces to ensure the safety and wellbeing of themselves and others.
